Telluride

The 2021 Kia Telluride packs many features into its SUV experience: plenty of power, superb handling, and comfortable space. Among the most impressive are the numerous high-tech advances.

Driver Assists

Among the reasons that the Kia Telluride stands out as a family vehicle are the following driver assists that are designed to protect your loved ones:

  • Standard Safe Exist Assist prevents any attempt to turn off the Electronic Child Safety Lock if it detects a potential hazard from a passing car. This prevents rear passengers from exiting the SUV into traffic.

  • Standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist tells you of approaching obstacles when you back up and can engage braking to avoid a collision.

  • Standard Parking Distance Warning – Reverse alerts you to hazards for the rear of your SUV as you back out of a parking spot.

  • Available Forward Collision Assist can determine if you’re about to hit another vehicle and can engage braking to prevent an accident. Its Pedestrian Detection factor gives you the same options for people.

  • Available Highway Driving Assist automatically adjusts your speed based on posted speed limits and what the car in front of you is doing. This keeps you at a safe distance from the other vehicle.

  • Available Blind Spot View Monitor shows a live video about your right rear blind zones on the dashboard gauge cluster. If it detects a vehicle there when you change lanes, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear prevents you from switching.

  • Available Surround View Monitor shows virtual top-down views of the Telluride and what’s around it to ease maneuvers in tight quarters.

Remote Control

remote capabilities

With UVO link services, you don’t have to be at your vehicle to manage it. As long as you have the app downloaded to your smartphone or use the online portal, you can do the following by remote:

  • Remote Start can run the engine before you arrive.
  • Rear Occupant Alert tells you if you left somebody in the rear seat when you leave the vehicle.
  • Remote Door Lock/Unlock controls access to the vehicle.
  • Remote Climate lets you turn on cooling or heating, so your vehicle interior is comfortable by the time you reach it.
  • Find My Car records the location of your vehicle, enabling you to easily find it later.

Another useful device is the Smart Key, a key fob that opens the available Smart Power Liftgate™ when you approach and can also start the SUV remotely.

Information Technology

When you need information, information, or communication, you can depend on the available 10.25-inch display to deliver through UVO Link with Navigation. It gives you turn-by-turn directions to your destination by displaying the route on a colorful map.

The display also merges your compatible smartphone through Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™, so that you can make phone calls or access your text messages. You can even control features with Siri® voice control. When you need to talk to the rear passengers, you can amplify your voice on the rear speakers.

Enhancing your favorite music is the Harman Kardon® Premium audio system, which includes 10 speakers. You’ll be able to power up your compatible devices without wires or cables by using the available Wireless Charger. Passengers can charge up their smartphones using the USB Charge ports that are available for all three rows.

Driving Advances

Telluride

Some of the technical advantages of the Kia Telluride are hidden from the driver but still work to make your drive safer and more
convenient.

  • The Anti-lock Braking System, for example, constantly works to reduce skidding, especially during hard emergency braking.
  • Hill-Start Assist Control holds the brakes momentarily when you start on a slope, so you don’t roll down the incline when moving your foot from brake to accelerator pedal.
  • Electronic Stability Control brakes individual wheels to prevent the wheels from sleeping and keep you headed in the direction you planned.
  • The Tire Pressure Monitoring System warns you when your tires are not inflated to the correct pressure.
